New Rules for Drivers: Government Approves Use of Rapid Tests for Alcohol and Drugs
If you enjoy a drink before driving, there’s news for you from the Cabinet of Ministers.
Starting June 13, the government has approved the use of rapid tests to detect alcohol and drugs in drivers’ bodies. These changes have been incorporated into the Procedure for Checking Drivers for Alcohol, Drug, or Other Intoxication, as well as the Influence of Medications that Impair Attention and Reaction Speed.
But don’t panic! If the rapid test results are positive, it’s still necessary to confirm the presence of narcotic or psychotropic substances through laboratory testing.
In any case, remember, do not drive under the influence! This can save your life as well as the lives of others.
