TruCAM on the Roads: Ukraine sncreases the number of speed measurement radars

In Ukraine, the number of TruCAM devices and sections where patrol officers measure speed is increasing to enhance road safety.

The patrol police are beginning to measure speed on 17 new road sections. These locations were selected based on an analysis of accident rates and concentrations of traffic accidents caused by speeding.

TruCAM devices are used alongside automatic detection cameras for more effective speed control. This is crucial for reducing accident rates on dangerous road sections.

In regions with active hostilities, such as Donetsk and Luhansk regions, TruCAM devices are temporarily not used. In Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, and Kherson regions, they are used on certain road sections.

Changes in the List of Sections

To the existing 333 sections, the following changes have been made:

• 17 new sections added;
• 3 sections modified;
• 1 section removed;
• Operations suspended on 54 sections.

In total, 160 TruCAM devices will be operational on 295 road sections across Ukraine.

Important Information for Drivers

Road signs will warn about the use of speed measurement devices. A patrol car with blue flashing lights will be present at locations where violations are being recorded.
